From The Hindu Archives, April 24, 1926: A Government undertaking to do its utmost to secure the passage of the Bill to protect the public against the money-lenders were given by Sir Wm. Joynsou-Hicks in the House of Commons and the Bill passed its second reading without division, after some objection had been raised with regard to some of its provisions.
